Porter’s Chapel falls to Benton Academy 46-12

The Porter’s Chapel Academy football team lost its season opener to Benton Academy Friday night.
PCA lost 46-12 last night even as it began the game with much hope in the first quarter.
Running back Tyler Washington broke out for a 61-yard touchdown run on PCA’s first possession of the game which gave the Eagles confidence. Washington’s touchdown gave the Eagles a 6-0 lead which would be their only lead in the game.
Washington finished the game with 88 yards and one touchdown on 9 carries.
The Eagles managed to get their second touchdown in the fourth quarter when Brayson Morson scored on a 93-yard kickoff return.
The Eagles are the first team in Vicksburg to play sports since COVID-19 hit. They showed much improvement last night and will continue to push through on the rest of the season under head coach Blake Purvis.
