Porter’s Chapel girls pull off 46-41 win over Greenville St. Joe

The Porter’s Chapel Academy girls basketball team defeated Greenville St. Joe Thursday in a 46-41 win.

The Lady Eagles were without star player Yakia Burns last night but still managed to pull out the big victory. They trailed 22-21 at halftime before things began to turn around.

Zy Smith came out in the second half and knocked down a big 3-pointer to help the Lady Eagles take the lead. She finished the game with 24 points as she led the team to victory.

Tiara Sims also stepped up big for the Eagles, playing at point guard the entire night. She hit two crucial 3-pointers in the game and finished with a total of 18 points.

The Lady Eagles were able maintain as they took lead in the second half and were able to bring home a much deserved victory. They will be in the road Friday to face Kemper Academy in their search for another win.
