Porter’s Chapel still looking for a girls basketball team head coach

The Porter’s Chapel Academy girls basketball team is still in search of a head coach to lead the Lady Eagles next season.

The team was coached last year by former Warren Central standout Cookie Johnson who left shortly after her first season as head coach. The team is now under the direction of Blake Purvis, the school’s new athletic director.

The Lady Eagles will be playing next season without two major players. Brittnee Martin and Anna Grace White both graduated last month. They were also Vicksburg Daily News All-County players. Martin averaged 11.5 points per game, while White put up 5.5 points on average for each game.

A couple of weeks ago, PCA named Walter Hallberg as the new boys basketball head coach.

According to the Midsouth Association of Independent Schools’ website, PCA is seeking a soccer coach as well.

Anyone interested in the PCA sports program is asked to call the Porter’s Chapel front office at 601-638-3733 or email at pca@porterschapel.org.
