Portion of Highway 465 to reopen Tuesday

A portion of state Highway 465 at Eagle Lake will reopen Tuesday, March 17.

The portion from Highway 61 to the Backwater Levee will be open to light vehicle traffic, said Durwood Graham, Mississippi Department of Transportation district engineer.

MDOT closed the road on Feb. 23 due to flood conditions.

No commercial heavy traffic will be allowed. All large vehicle traffic is directed to Onward and the Mainline Levee.

Motorists will still have to travel the Mainline (Tara) Levee to access Eagle Lake Shore Drive.
