Power out for more than 1,000 people

Entergy Mississippi is reporting power outages for more than 1,000 people. A map of the outage area shows a section of town in the dark.

Streetlights are out in numerous locations. Treat those intersections as four-way stops, and use extra caution for drivers who may not be alert to the situation. An afternoon squall was passing through the area at the time of the outage.

Entergy shows the time of the outage as 3:43 p.m. and anticipates having power restored by 6 p.m.
