Power Outages Plague the Morning

There are areas of town where traffic lights have been affected by power outages. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that these intersections should be treated as four-way stops and you should proceed through the intersection with the greatest caution. Entergy has crews on the ground who are working diligently to repair lines and restore service as fast as possible.  They ask people to be patient and understanding while they work to restore power to every one of their customers. There are lots of people in Claiborne County, many of them are part of the Southwest Mississippi Electric Power Association, who are without power at this time as well.  Entergy reports widespread power outages, mainly caused by downed lines, in that area and are working as fast as they can to restore all power. We need to remind all of you that downed power lines could still be carrying a current through them and you should avoid them at all costs.  Please don’t touch, move or drive over downed lines, as this may cause injury or death.]]]]> ]]>
