Prentiss approves lease for largest hemp extraction plant in the south

VICKSBURG, Miss. (Vicksburg Daily News) – The Prentiss Board of Aldermen have approved a leasehold agreement for an industrial hemp processing plant in Jefferson Davis County, according to WLBT.

Leaf River Extraction secured the agreement for a 78,500 square foot facility which will make it not only the first hemp processing and extraction plant in the state of Mississippi, but the largest in the south.

The company will grow and produce CBD and hemp products using Supercritical CO2 technology to extract the cannabinoids.
