Prepare for rolling power outages tonight

Entergy and electric co-op customers in south and west Mississippi will see rolling power outages for approximately just one hour tonight in various areas across the systems. Customers should receive a notification prior to service being interrupted.

Hospitals and critical care facilities will not lose service but other customers will.

As of this report, Entergy Mississippi has over 3,500 customers currently without power due to weather conditions as well.  Ice and road conditions continue to have an impact on work crews’ ability to travel. Restoration is proceeding as quickly and safely as possible.

The high level of instantaneous demand can hamper efforts to restore power in your area. If currently without power, please unplug electric heating systems and appliances and turn them back on gradually after power is restored.
