‘Prince and the Revolution: Live’ streaming for COVID-19 relief efforts


The Prince estate will stream “Prince and the Revolution: Live” to support COVID-19 relief efforts.
The concert will stream for three days on YouTube, starting Thursday, May 14, at 8 p.m. ET.
Viewer donations will go to the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. Google will match donations up to $5 million.
The concert video was first released on home video in 1985. The live concert, part of the “Purple Rain” tour, took place March 30, 1985, in Syracuse, New York. This is the first time the event will stream digitally, and the streaming coincides with the release of digitally remastered audio of the concert.
Members of the Revolution at the concert: Prince on lead vocals, guitar and piano; Wendy Melvoin on guitar and vocals; Brown Mark on bass guitar and vocals; Lisa Coleman on keyboards, piano and vocals; Matt “Doctor” Fink on keyboards and vocals; and Bobby Z. on drums.
