Public health leaders receive second dose of COVID-19 vaccine
State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs was among several individuals who received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday.
Mississippi’s public health leadership were the first people in the state to receive the vaccine and they lined up for the required second dose. The first shots were administered Dec. 14.
Among others to receive the second dose were State Epidemiologist Dr. Paul Byers, Sonja Fuqua, Ph.D and RN with the Community Health Center Association of Mississippi, MSDH Health Protection Director and Senior Deputy Jim Craig, and Dr. Leandro Mena of the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
