Radio personality DJ Star has died

Monroe, Louisiana, radio personality DJ Star has died.

The Radio People confirmed in a Facebook post that the popular DJ on 100.1 The Beat died on Sunday evening. DJ Star was on the air from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The circumstances surrounding his death have not been released.

Star, whose real name was Donald Johnson, was originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, and studied at Grambling State University.
