Rankin County authorites are searching for missing male

Numerous first responders are en route to assist Rankin County authorities with the search for a missing person near Florence.

The Rankin County Emergency Operations Center placed a request for assistance from the Mid Mississippi Strike Team. The multi-agency response unit is made up of firefighters and law enforcement in Central Mississippi who have trained together for situations such as this.

According to Shane Garrard, E-911 Coordinator and Northeast Fire Chief, he and two firefighters, along with two Warren County deputies, are en route to assist with the search for a 40-year-old male.

A strike team was deployed here in Warren County to aid in the search process for two missing hunters in early December.
