Rascoe wins SWAC player of the week

Congratulations to LaRae Rascoe of Alcorn State University for winning the SWAC Player of the Week award.

Rascoe is a junior-college transfer from Ancilla College in Plymouth, Ind, where she ended her career as the school’s all-time leader in steals (287) and assists (197) while placing second in points (1,136).

She graduated from Pike High School near Indianapolis where she lettered in basketball and track, and where she helped her team win a state championship in 2017.

On Sunday, Rascoe dropped 19 points against Florida A&M in a 58-42 Alcorn victory. She is averaging 11.7 points a game.

The Lady Braves have a 4-6 record.

The Lady Braves will be at home Dec. 15 to face the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
