Raymond wins class 4A state title

Raymond High School boy’s basketball team won the class 4A State Championship on Thursday in a 65-44 victory over Clarksdale.

Jabarie Robinson won MVP and put up 19 points in the game.

Raymond was up 14-11 by the end of the first quarter but did the most damage in the third quarter when they led 46-26.

Tremaine Dixon put up 17 points for the Rangers and Chris Fuqua added 13 on the night.

Midway through the fourth quarter, the game was already in Raymond’s control with Eric Paymon, Jr. knocking down two free throws late in the game.

The win under head coach Tony Tadlock is Raymond’s first state title since 2019.
