After a successful and a class 4A State Title, Raymond High Head Basketball Coach Tony Tadlock has been named as the Mississippi Association of Coaches Boy’s Basketball Coach of the Year.

“When I received the call I was shocked,” Tadlock said. “I am so grateful the committee chose me to represent the state of Mississippi. This award is not just about me; it is about the team and without them and my staff (Richard Caston and Jason Claxton), this honor would not be possible.”

The Rangers came into the season full of confidence and quickly established themselves as a great squad. In the blink of an eye, Raymond secured a 29-5 season as the defeated Clarksdale 65-44 in the State Championship Game.

In his five years with the Rangers, Tadlock has led the team to three state titles and five championship appearances while pulling in a overall 134-30 record. Multiple players have received collegiate scholarships under Tadlock’s tenure as he has no signs of slowing down.

A special banquet will be held on July 14 to honor all of the Mississippi Coaches of the Year at the Sheraton Hotel in Flowood, Mississippi.
