RCEC graduated 83 students on Wednesday

River City Early College graduated the Class of 2024 on Wednesday.

The ceremony was held at the Vicksburg Convention Center where 83 students were declared as graduates. Astha Patel represented RCEC as the Class Salutatorian and Lauren Harmon stood tall as the Class Valedictorian.

RCEC Principal Shelia Burbridge, School Board President Jim Stirgus Jr., and Deputy Superintendent Dr. Cedric Magee all shared some wise words for the graduates just shortly before Counselor Marian Richardson announced their accomplishments.

The Class of 2024 earned $7,782,701 in scholarships, and a 4.43 GPA while 68 students finished with an associate’s degree and a total of 4,372 college hours were earned.
