Reckless driver runs car off road and into pole
Just after 11 p.m., responders rushed to the 3500 block of Washington Street, near its cross with Johnson Street, for a motor vehicle collision. The initial call indicated the driver was lying in the street.
The accident happened near the front of Fire Station 7. The loud sound of the impact alerted a firefighter in Station 7 who came out to check on the driver.Â
The driver of this truck says that he was traveling southbound on Washington Street when an oncoming vehicle crossed over into his lane. To avoid hitting them, he swerved to the right and crashed into a utility pole. An eyewitness at the scene corroborated that story.
Miraculously there are no injuries in this crash, however, utility lines are down.

A vehicle with a Louisiana tag that was passing by the accident was stopped by law enforcement. 3 individuals in the vehicle were arrested by police.
