After being one of the Warren Central Vikings lead blockers, Reed Buys has been doing the same for Jones Community College as he prepares for his next move.

Buys was an effective offensive lineman for the Bobcats last season, and they finished with a 7-3 record. Buys was in charge of blocking for teammates such as quarterback Fred Barnum Jr.  Throughout the 2019 season, Buys played every position on the offensive line. He also suffered an injury in the middle of the season but was able to bounce back stronger than before.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Buys and the rest of his team are unable to practice on the field, so he has been staying in shape mostly by doing workouts at his home.

”I’ve been working out every day with a close friend to keep being in shape and to stay competitive,” Buys said.

Buys is not only preparing for next season, but he is also planning for football after junior college. He has been in contact with schools such as Mississippi State and the University of Alabama-Birmingham to see where his future of playing division 1 football will be.

Buys graduated from Warren Central in 2019. He helped the Vikings to the playoffs in each of his varsity years.
