Reindeer Run raised $21,300 for Paws Rescue

The Reindeer Run held Dec. 5 at Catfish Row raised $21,300 to benefit Paws Rescue.
The check was presented Friday at LD’s Kitchen in downtown Vicksburg.
“The Reindeer run Committee is overwhelmed by the response of our local businesses,” event coordinator Debbie Haworth Peacock said. “We realize that this has been a challenging year for everyone, but the grace and commitment from our local people has been truly amazing.”
In total, 195 people signed up for the 5k walk/run, as well 24 pets who also participated. All participants helped contribute to the $21,300 that went to Paws Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter that operates 100% from donations.
The Reindeer Run was the second annual 5k held at Catfish Row. Many businesses, including LD’s Kitchen, helped sponsor the event, and the money will be going to a good cause.
