Reminder: Household Hazardous Waste collection June 8 at Sherman Avenue Elementary

The Hazardous waste collection is this weekend in the parking lot of Sherman Avenue Elementary at 2145 Sherman Avenue.

Held each year in June, Household Hazardous Waste Day is an opportunity for residents to dispose of any items that can’t be recycled or thrown away with household garbage. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.

Collections are to include:

HAZARDOUS:

• Batteries
• Used motor oil
• Antifreeze
• Insecticides
• Pesticides
• Aerosols
• Acids
• Flammable liquids
• Paint
• Computer equipment
• L.P. cylinders
• TV’s
• Fluorescent light bulbs
• Ammunition

NON-HAZARDOUS:

• Metals
• tires
• clothes
• furniture

There will also be document shredding available.
