Work is set to begin on the damaged portion of U.S. Highway 80 just west of the highway’s intersection with Mt. Alban Road in Warren County, said Mississippi Department of Transportation spokesperson Mike Flood.

That portion of the road collapsed after weeks of heavy rains in early February.

A preconstruction conference was held Monday involving MDOT and the firm chosen to do the repairs, Vicksburg-based Theobald Construction Services, LLC. The cost of the repairs is estimated at $339,787.

The estimated completion date is mid-August, barring no unforeseen weather delays.
