I am writing this review on the verge of a food coma. I just finished the best birria tacos I’ve ever had, and I take EVERY opportunity to eat birria tacos.

I went to The Tattooed Chef on Friday, but unfortunately Chef Chana wasn’t serving tacos. I got the tamales and rice and chicken. I don’t like tamales, but these had peppers and rice in them. They were really good as far as tamales go, but again, not my thing. The chicken and rice though? That was delicious. The chicken was fall off the bone tender and juicy as all get out. The rice was seasoned so well, and it had just a little bit of a kick. It was really good, I would eat it again.

I went back today for the birria tacos. THAT WAS THE BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE !!! First of all, I’m a birria taco Stan. I love those tacos with the transmission fluid, I’m talking mmm mmm good! I felt like that famous leprechaun talkin’ about some, “they’re magically delicious!!” They were so hot and the corn tortillas were grilled perfectly. They were crunchy, but not burnt. The cheese was melted perfectly. The cheese from the pizza on a goofy movie couldn’t touch this cheese!

You could tell the Spanish rice was home made, and I love when people put veggies in Spanish rice. It was SO good. Also, just when I thought it couldn’t get any better… THESE FOLKS DONE MADE SOME ELOTES!!!! I was thanking whichever lord would listen!! You know how good the food has to be when you start thanking somebody else’s god??? It was remarkable. I was surprised because for Spanish rice, 3 tacos, elotes, sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, and a Cherry lemonade it was only $10!!! You will not find a cheaper birria taco plate in Vicksburg. It was remarkable. I will be going back to The Tattooed Chef.
