Warren Central High School football players Ronnie Blossom and Larry Reynolds Jr. are ready to dominate on the defensive line this season.

Blossom:

Blossom excelled greatly in 2022 and was a huge part of the Viking defense in the trenches. He’s now pumped up about the upcoming season where he’s prepared to do big things.

“It’s going to be a good year and we have a lot to prove,” Blossom said. “Last year was good but it’s definitely more coming this year.”

As a sophomore, Blossom finished with 85 tackles, six sacks and an interception. One of his best performances was against Oak Grove where he had a pick 6 and 14 solo tackles in a 42-41 win.

WC reached the second round of the playoffs last year but Blossom has different plans for his team in 2023.

“We have a goal of going to state because we got a championship on our mind,” Blossom added.

LJ Reynolds:

Reynolds is also stepping into this season and highly motivated as things quickly approach.

“We got a lot of people coming back on defense and we all put in a bunch of work this summer to stay ahead,” Reynolds said. “I think I showed much improvement last year but I’m ready for better things now.”

Last season, as a sophomore, Reynolds grabbed 40 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, six sacks and four pass deflections as he contributed heavily on the defensive side of the ball. He credits h his best games were against Vicksburg High and Petal where he made his way into the backfield and grabbed multiple tackles.

Like Blossom, Reynolds envisions a championship in 2023 where the fight begins on August 25 when WC plays Clinton in the Red Carpet Bowl.

“We want that ring so we going to fight for a state championship,” Reynolds added.
