The River City Wolves took down the Raptors Friday, Jan. 3, in a close 17-16 battle that came down to the final seconds.

Both teams consist of fifth and sixth graders from Vicksburg who play at the Vicksburg YMCA.

Darius Washington led the Wolves with 11 points to help take home the win. The game was the first win for the Wolves this season, and they plan to keep the victories going in future matches.

”We played hard all the way through and came out on top, so, I am proud that my guys stuck with the game plan,” head coach JaCorey Reynolds said.

Landon Green and Allan Allen also stepped up in crunch time for the Wolves by scoring some last minute points to secure the win. Green finished with 4 points on the night while Allen scored a layup in the fourth quarter that topped off the win.

The River City Wolves will play the top ranked Sonics on Friday, Jan., 10.
