Richard “Rick” Leroy Davis, 1957 – 2022

On the evening of Mar. 8, Richard “Rick” Leroy Davis of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away at the age of 64 surrounded by his loving family,

Rick was born in Greenville, MS, to Richard and Laverne Davis in 1957. He received his Civil Engineering degree from Tennessee Tech in 1981. His degree lead him to his career as an engineer in aerospace working on commercial, military and private airplanes.

In August 1984, he married Lisa Franklin, of Tallula, Mississippi, and together they raised their sons Matthew and Jonathan Davis. In 2019, Rylan Morgan, a relative, became a member of the family.

Rick was a loving and doting husband who enjoyed many adventures, with his wife, traveling, doing mission work and children’s ministry. Rick was also an attentive and loving father who was very active with his sons in sports, camping, hiking and participating in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America program as a leader. Most of all, he was a devoted Christian that loved his sweet Savior and was faithful to always serve.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Eugene Davis. He is survived by his wife, Melisa “Lisa” Davis, his children Matthew and Jonathan Davis and Rylan Morgan, all of North Richland Hills, Texas, his mother Laverne Davis of Clevland, Tennessee, his sister Susie Fuerst and husband, Kevin of Ooltewah, Tennessee, niece Andi Hull, nephew, Steven Fuerst and their family.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Mar. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Tallula, MS (located on Highway 1) with Rev. Duke Stone officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday just before the service. Interment will follow at The County line Cemetery in Glen Allan, MS.

Pallbearers will be Matthew and Jonathan Davis, Jebby Johnson, Mike Pugh, Gabe Owens and Caleb Joiner.

Honorary Pallbearers are Weston Joiner, Brent and Trey Chaney, Rodney Joiner and Sammy Woods.

Donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Foundation, John Hagee Ministries, Eagle Mountain International Church – EMIC is currently getting Jews out of Ukraine and flying them to Israel, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
