Both fighters went into the match swinging. Riggs landed a punch 21 seconds into the fight that put Thompson on the floor. Thompson, still dazed by Riggs’ punch, got back up and continued to fight until the Vicksburg native gave him another nasty punch that he couldn’t handle. This led to Riggs towards winning the fight.

The fight only lasted for one minute and 39 seconds. Riggs proved that he hasn’t lost his touch when it comes to fighting.
