Riggs, Washington and Rogers led Warren County in rushing, passing and receiving during the 2021 season

Porter’s Chapel Academy’s Jace Riggs, Tyler Washington, and Willie Rogers, Jr. each led Warren County in passing, rushing and receiving yards in the 2021 football season.
In the Eagles’ successful year, under head coach Blake Purvis, all three athletes played a significant role in PCA making the playoffs.
Riggs stayed on top in his passing game throughout the year by throwing for 1,332 yards and 19 touchdowns which led the county this season. He also rushed for 475 yards and five touchdowns.
“I’m very thankful for a very successful season and especially my quarterback’s coach Ryan William who helped me improve my game and reach my full potential,” Riggs said.
When it came to running the football, Washington was a dominant force on the field by racking up 1,346 rushing yards on top of scoring 21 rushing touchdowns. He also threw for one score and caught three touchdowns before the season was over to finish with a total of 25 touchdowns.
“I was very blessed to have Chris Simms as one of my coaches and he has stuck with me since the third grade and he got to witness me become the county’s lead rusher for the season,” Washington said.
It wasn’t much of a debate for Riggs to decide who to throw the ball at when PCA needed a big play as Rogers came up with 44 catches on the year with 686 receiving yards. He also caught nine touchdowns and rushed for five, leading the county in catches and receiving yards.
“I’m very happy that I had the coaching staff that I had because they pushed us hard until we achieved our goals,” Rogers said.
None of the three athletes have announced their future plans and are all currently playing basketball for PCA.
