The Southern Heritage Air Foundation and local sponsors are proud to announce the return of the Rise Above Exhibit at their Warbird Event this Oct. 11-15.

According to their website the exhibit includes a “fully functional mobile movie theater [which] features two compelling original short RISE ABOVE films that tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen or the WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots), and the obstacles they both overcame to be able to serve their country during WWII.”

Attendees will learn that what both groups had in common was their ability to see obstacles could be overcome “with hard work and dedication.”

The theater is housed within a climate controlled 53’ semi-trailer with expandable sides for a fully immersive experience. The 40 attendees (at a time) view the films on a 160 degree panoramic screen which “creates the feeling of being in a cockpit soaring above the clouds.”

According to their website, “admission is always free to event attendees,” and children are given a free dog tag with the six principles of Rise Above based on the experiences of the Tuskagee Airmen and Wasp: “Aim High, Believe in Yourself, Use Your Brain, Be Ready to Go, Never Quit, and Expect to Win.”

The event will be held at 179 VTR Airport Rd. in Tellulah, LA.

Due to limited space, pre-scheduling is required. Visitors are asked to make a reservation at this website.
