Rob Riggin has been named as the new Porter’s Chapel Academy head baseball coach.

Riggin, an experienced Mississippi native, has been coaching baseball for the last 18 years, most recently with the Jackson 96ers travel ball team, which is fresh off a National Amateur Baseball Federation High School World Series Tournament Championship.

Riggin also served as an assistant coach at Raymond High School for four years. He briefly played at Hinds Community College, but quickly found a love for coaching the game.

“I do it all for the kids we’ve had multiple guys from Warren County to play for the 96ers and we play our games at college campuses so these coaches can see them,” Riggin said.

As Riggin is already the head coach of the 96ers, he is familiar with many Warren County athletes and their competitive nature.

PCA will be returning the majority of last year’s team, which advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
