Robert “Bob” Michael Brasfield departed this life of natural causes at his home in Vicksburg, Mississippi on Sunday, May 8.

Bob was born in Fort Benning, Georgia to the late Edgar Warren Brasfield and Jeanette “Jan” Baroudy Brasfield. Due to his father’s military service, the family moved all over the south, and he came to know many people. He settled in Vicksburg in 1977. He then started a successful audio repair shop, Brasfield Audio Repair, that has been in business ever since.

Bob never met a stranger. He was kind, full of love and life, with an infectious laugh and smile. His favorite activities included traveling, flying model airplanes, shooting guns, watching Alabama football, listening to music, and dancing. Bob was very family oriented. He enjoyed cheering his grandchildren on while they played their favorite sports.

He was a devoted husband and father who is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Betty Jo “Jody” Brasfield, of Houston, Texas. Together they raised two children, Ben Brasfield and Rachel Brasfield Dean (Victor Parker) of Vicksburg and three grandchildren, Kylan Jordan, Raegan Dean, and Avery Dean. He is survived by his brothers John (Theresa) Brasfield of Gulf Shores, AL, David (Kathy) Brasfield of Clay, AL, and sister Marcia Brasfield Below of Gulf Shores, AL.

Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home at 145 Highway 80 on Saturday, May 14th from 9:00-11:00 AM, followed by the service officiated by Reverend Jeffery Murphy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Christian Church, P.O. Box 820763, Vicksburg, MS 39182.
