Fit Chef Kevin Roberts and his staff have now prepared over 1,000 meals for health care workers and Entergy employees throughout the winter storm that is currently in place.

Most of the meals have gone to Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg where the staff has continued to provide health care around the clock. The meals came from a combination of discounts, donations, and others who compensated for their food.

Along with two staff members, Roberts also had plenty of help in the community, with Ricky Hearn, Troy Kimble, Delvin Thompson, Paul Richards, Diane Pennington, Terri McCall, Perry Boyd, John Michael Allen and Corey Jones, who all stepped in to lend a hand.

“The community really came together to pitch in to make things happen and we will continue to do so,” Roberts said.

In total, Roberts and the great volunteers have now provided 1,250 meals and have also made deliveries to nursing homes as well, mostly to the hospital and the Entergy employees.

As the roads continue to be in rough conditions, Roberts plans on continuing to help serve the community.
