Rogers and Masterson named as PCA’s male and female athlete of the year

After excelling in their sports in the 2021-2022 school year, Olivia Masterson and Willie Rogers, Jr. have been named as Porter’s Chapel Academy’s female and male athlete of the year.

Masterson participated in track, cheer, softball and basketball. She was a team player in each one throughout her high school career. Along with being the female athlete of the year, Masterson was named as the cheerleader of the year, top thrower in track and an all-district softball player.

Masterson defines the term “student-athlete”. She is valedictorian of her class and will be attending the University of  Louisiana-Monroe in the Fall.

Rogers excelled in football, basketball and track this season, proving to be a valuable asset to his team.

During the football season, Rogers led Warren County in receiving yards, finishing with 686 along with nine touchdowns. He finished with All-District honors. He was also named as the field event MVP for track and the Co-MVP for basketball where the Eagles reached the state tournament.

Rogers will be attending Hinds Community College in the Fall.
