Our much loved husband, father, Poppa, uncle and friend departed his earthly home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at St. Dominics hospital in Jackson, Ms. He was 73 years old.

Ronnie was born in Hattiesburg, MS, to the late Betty L. Foster McGowan on October 18, 1949, he was her only child.

He graduated from Hattiesburg High School in 1967 and attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he met his beloved wife, Linda Diane Dowe McGowan, and they were married in 1972.
They have enjoyed 51 blessed years of marriage. After moving from Hattiesburg, MS, they moved to Linda’s hometown of Vicksburg, MS. The couple made their home in Vicksburg for the past 50 years
and raised their family of two children.

Ronnie worked for Letoureau from 1973-1975, before working for Bechtel at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. After a few years, Mr. McGowan went to work in-house for Entergy in the Planning Department for
over 25 years prior to retiring.

Ronnie was a Christian man of the Methodist faith who deeply loved the Lord. He was a member of Hawkins United Methodist Church in Vicksburg. He was a Past Master of Hyland-Jarmon Lodge
#113 and a 32nd Degree Mason. He had been a Mason since 1982. Mr. McGowan was also a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #95.

Ronnie loved the outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, especially golf with his retiree group at Clear Creek, or any sports. He was a very involved supporter of Area 10 Specail Olympics
having worked with the Grand Gulf Bass Club for many years with an annual fundraiser Bass Tournament. Ronnie was a sponsor of the G6:2 annual Handicap Hunt, and enjoyed visiting with
each hunter. His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life, he loved to see them participating in all their extracurricullar activities. He was so proud of their accomplishments
His personality would light up a room, he always had a quick wit, and never met a stranger. His kindness and love can never be replaced. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. McGowan is survived by his cherished wife, Linda Dowe McGowan; his son, Mark McGowan (Callie), of Amory, MS; and his daughter, Lauren Powers (Paul) of Vicksburg, MS. Five adored grandchildren,
Clover McGowan, Dowe McGowan, Lona Kate McGowan of Amory, MS, and Lexie Layne Powers and Mack Powers of Vicksburg, MS. Ronnie is also survived by his Mother-In-Law, Clover M. Dowe of Utica, MS; his
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Robert and Shelia Dowe and Rachael and Dave Cook of Vicksburg, MS and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Vistitation will be held at Fisher Riles Funeral Home on Indiana Avenue on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 5-7 pm and Funeral Services will be held at Hawkins United Methodist Church on Saturday July 1, 2023 with
visitation from 10-11 am with the service at 1100 am. Reverend Harrell Moore and Tommy Miller will preside over the services. Internment will follow at the Cayuga Cemetary on Raymond Port Gibson Road with
Masonic Rites.

Pallbearers will be Kiel May, Kenny McLaughlin, Cameron Wells, Jeff Wong, Rocky Fowler, and Bob Dew. Honorary Pallbearers will be former colleagues fromm Grand Gulf Nuclear Power and members of the
Masonic Lodge #113 and Elks BPOE #95.
