Roof collapsed at Laclede Chain Manufacturing Company
The Laclede Chain plant sustained significant damage during the severe weather that passed through on Sunday evening. Responders were dispatched to the scene by the alarm company.
One of the first officials to arrive on the scene remarked that the building looked like there had been an explosion. The glass doors had been blown out and it was immediately clear that there was significant structural damage.
Bovina Fire Chief Chris Kennedy confirmed that first responders verified the building was unoccupied and that utilities were disconnected to prevent risk of further damage.
Firefighters reported that the damage appeared to be confined to the office portion of the building. It is unclear at this time exactly what caused the building’s roof to collapse.
Vicksburg Daily News’ David Day captured a stunning double rainbow over the broken building. A poignant reminder that even in the toughest times, there is hope.
