Roof collapses on 61 South. Trees and powerlines are falling

In the last 30 minutes, several reports have come in of power lines and trees coming down. There are many reports of trees overhanging the roadway, burdened with ice.

A tree went through a house in the 1700 block of Sky Farm. Everyone is out and no one was injured.

A tree has fallen on Interstate 20 East and block both lanes. That tree is almost cleared away at this writing.

A call just came in of a tree on fire most likely from a downed power line on Dogwood.

Another report just came in of a roof collapse on 61 South. No injuries are reported.

As the freezing rain continues more trees and power lines should come down. At this writing, 500 people in Warren County are without power.

The City of Vicksburg has requested everyone stop using water for an hour to allow the water plant to catch up. There are a couple of leaks that have tapped the supply and usage is up because of the increased number of people staying at home.

As this weather event worsens police and fire response will be slowed because of icy roads. Please use proper precautions with fireplaces and space heaters.
