Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a personal and leadership development program for high school students with a drive to have a positive impact on their communities. RYLA programs are sponsored by local districts in over 25 countries emphasizing teamwork, leveraging personal strengths, and servant leadership.

The Central Mississippi RYLA will be held February 22-24, 2024, at Twin Lakes Conference Center in Florence Mississippi and staffed by seasoned volunteer Rotarians as well as college age counselors. Students will participate in many engaging activities including a Clifton Strengths Assessment, team building activities, a ropes course, and a service project.

This year one teen from the Vicksburg area is being sponsored by the Vicksburg Rotary Club for an all-expense paid trip. Thomas Kilroy will join nearly fifty others from all over central Mississippi for this leadership event where they will learn how Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self” is a cornerstone of effective leadership. These students were selected by their local Rotary clubs with the help of school counselors and Interact Club sponsors as students with leadership potential and a heart for community service.
