Ruth Ivy McDonald, 1932 – 2019

Ruth Ivy McDonald was born Nov. 26, 1932, to Blanche and William Parsons in Franklin County, Mississippi. She grew up in a family of five sisters and six brothers in Church Hill, Miss. She went to her heavenly reward Dec. 3, 2019.

Ruth was married to James Edward McDonald for 65 years. They were best friends and had a beautiful life together. She is survived by her husband James; son Michael Edward McDonald (Debbie); daughters Becky Lynn Etheridge (Ronnie), Nancy Irene Hicks (Tim); son Bobby Lee McDonald (Patty); daughters Sally Ann Pickett (Steven), and Amy Patricia Emerson (James). She is loved by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ruth was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, sister, aunt and gramma to many children.

Ruth loved to garden with her grandchildren. she enjoyed cooking, especially with her grandchildren. She loved to sew clothes and made many Disney princess ballgowns for her granddaughters and great granddaughters. Ruth enjoyed coffee and spending time with her family on her wrap-around porch and sharing stories about her family and days gone by. Ruth loved the Lord and sharing her testimonies about the Lord. She enjoyed feeding her birds and hummingbirds and watch them every day. Ruth lived a long, beautiful life and was quick to share her sweet laugh and kind heart. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at Glenwood Funeral Home with services in the chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Abel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Aubrey Graves, Joshua McDonald, Matthew McDonald, Garrett Graves Toby Graves, and Will Pickett. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons.
