Sales tax holiday begins today

Mississippi’s annual sales tax holiday begins Friday, July 31.

The event provides shoppers a 7% “discount” on most clothing, shoes and back-to-school items priced under $100 per article as they will not need to pay Mississippi sales tax.

The event runs all day Friday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 1, and includes eligible items purchased in stores or by mail, telephone or internet. Layaway sales are not included.
