Sally Sue Tompkins, 1933 – 2022

Sally Sue Tompkins passed away at the age of 89 on September 10, 2022. She was born near Carthage Mississippi to Irvin and Naomi Kelly on August 27, 1933. She loved the Lord and was an active member of Warrenton Independent Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Mississippi for nearly 35 years. Her and her husband retired US Air Force Msgt Earl E. Tompkins traveled extensively during his years in the service.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her Grandmother Sarah Jane Fortenberry whom she affectionately called Mama, a brother, I.L. Kelly Jr, three sisters, Faye Shoemaker, Dean Pierce, Jo Cory and a daughter-in-law Susan Tompkins.

She is survived by her four children, Jerry Tompkins (Penny), Kay Austin (Mike), Jeff Tompkins (Crystal), and Carol Dodson (Scottee), seven grandchildren, Laine Young (Andrew), Stephanie Tompkins, Ian Hamilton, Holly Curtis (Jonathan), Paul Tompkins, Devon Weaver (Eli) and Matthew Tompkins (Rachel), five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Julian, Gavin, Blair and Keagan, three sisters, Pete Arnold, Dan Crowe, and Sandy Whitaker (Johnny) as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Guy Barnett Jr, Jonathan Curtis, Larry Dodson, Matthew Tompkins, Tim Tompkins, Johnny Whitaker. Alternate Pallbearers will be Mike Barnett and Jerry Morris.
