Samuel Tyson Massey, 1980 – 2022

Samuel Tyson Massey, our Sammy T, left this world on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at the age of 42. Samuel was born June 12, 1980, in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Samuel Wesley and Lynn Noel Massey. He lived in Grenada, Mississippi for more than 30 years.

Samuel loved spending time outdoors with family and friends. His favorite hobbies were truck riding, boat riding and fishing. He made many happy memories on his pontoon boat fishing and watching his family ski and tube.

Sammy T’s contagious laugh and infectious smile are cherished by all who love him. This world and our family are better for our beloved Sammy T being in it!! We will keep him in our hearts forever.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Welred I. and Mary Kathryn Massey and his maternal grandfather, Burton E. Crosby, Jr.

He is survived by his parents, Sam and Noel Massey, his maternal grandmother, Celia Smith, long-term caregiver, Dana Hamilton, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Graveside service will be Thursday, December 29th at 12 pm at Greenlawn Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:45 am at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue. Pallbearers are Dusty Keen, Jamie Massey, Wesley Massey, Ryan Crosby, Kyle Crosby, and Jacob Bennett.

Service will be officiated by Mike Windham.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
