Pro football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders has made it official: he will be the next head football coach for Jackson State University.

Sanders made the announcement Sunday evening on his podcast. He will be the school’s 21st head football coach.

JSU athletic director Ashley Robinson and interim President Thomas Hudson are expected to make the official announcement from JSU Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Sanders is currently the offensive coordinator for Trinity Christian High School in Texas where his son, Shedeur Sanders, is the starting quarterback. He led the team to a Texas State Championship last season, and he will remain at TCHS until the end of this season.

Hiring Sanders is huge for the Tigers. They have ended their search for a new coach to help turn their program around.
