Sanders wins Eddie Robinson Award
Jackson State University head football coach Deion Sanders has won the Eddie Robinson Award which is presented to the top head coach on the FCS level.
“This is a team effort, it’s a valiant effort, it takes a lot, it does not just take me. I know it takes a visionary, but people have to really support the vision. And that’s what we did,” Sanders said in a school statement.
Sanders has currently led JSU to a 11-1 season as they are approaching the Celebration Bowl where they will face South Carolina State.
The Tigers also finished undefeated in conference play under Sanders’ leadership. He will be honored at the FCS National Awards Banquet on Jan. 7 in Frisco, Texas.
