For a student like Sarah, it should come as no surprise that she was a member of  the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society. She also served as the secretary of the student council for two years. She was a member of Key Club and the robotics team

In her senior year, she was elected as the Public Relations Secretary for Phi Theta Kappa at Hinds.

Sarah received the Freshman Academic Excellence Scholarship and the Colvard Future Leader Scholarship from Mississippi State.

In addition to being brilliant, Sarah is also talented. She sings at Wayside Baptist Church or other community events. She was a featured singer at a fundraiser at Parkside Theater called “Affairs of the Heart”. The proceeds went to Good Shepherd Community Center and The United Way.

She credits Mrs. Buxton at RCEC for helping her find her passion for writing and encouraging her to continue on that path.

She will use the skills Mrs. Buxton helped plant in her as she attends Mississippi State University in the fall to earn a bachelor’s degree in Communications, with a focus in journalism.

She is the daughter of Tonya and Carl Campbell and has a twin brother, Matthew. She credits her parents for her drive and determination to succeed.

She also said, “I’m also determined to prove anybody wrong who ever said I couldn’t do something.”

And we have no doubt she will.
