Saturday’s fatal crash victim identified

The victim of Saturday’s fatal head-on-collision  on Halls Ferry Road has been identified.

48-year-old Jeffery Dewayne Harris has been named as the deceased in the deadly crash.

Around 5 p.m. yesterday, two vehicles collided with each other which injured two occupants while Harris suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey.

The northbound 1997 Toyota Sedan was driven by Harris. His passenger was 55-year-old Dwayne Leroy Williams and he was transported by helicopter to UMMC.

The southbound 2020 Toyota SUV was driven by 31-year-old Baron Meeks. He was transported by ambulance to River Region.

The accident is still under investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace was on the scene while Deputies Joseph Stubbs and Daniel Thomas led the investigation. Units with the Warren County Fire Department(Fisher Ferry) and Vicksburg Fire Department responded to the scene.
