School busses have stopped picking up; school will close at 10 a.m.

The VWSD has stopped running busses and students will be released at 10 a.m.

John Elfer said, “Yesterday I thought they were okay to go. This morning things have changed.”

In a statement on their website, the VWSD posted the following:

“After elementary school buses were enroute, we received a call from Emergency Management Director, John Elfer, that the severity of the weather had increased and the timing had changed. At that point he advised us to dismiss school early. After consulting with our vice-president, the decision was made not to run high school and jr. high school bus routes. Elementary students who arrive will be dismissed at 10 a.m. Breakfast and sack lunch will be provided to the students.”
