Scott ready for his redshirt junior season at Alabama State University

Vicksburg native Jeff Scott Jr. is headed into his redshirt junior season at Alabama State University where he has witnessed his game gain much improvement over the years.
“I feel like I made many improvements and I gained my coach’s attention, but I know still need to do better to be the best,” Scott said.
Scott helped ASU to a 5-6 season in 2021 and finished with 32 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble. His stats continues to improve since arriving in the Spring 2021 season where he made the game-winning interception against Jackson State University.
Shortly after having a impacting season last Fall, Alabama State hired Eddie Robinson Jr as the new Head Football Coach which left Scott having to impress a new staff. He has now moved from cornerback to strong safety but his football knowledge heavily allows him to play anywhere in the secondary.
“I’ve learned how to adapt and think quick on my feet, and plus my football IQ has shot through the roof,” Scott said. “I remember playing Auburn last season and I picked up some few good tackles but most of all I felt like I did my job.”
ASU opens up their season against Howard University on August 27.
Scott starred at Vicksburg High School, Melbourne Central Catholic, and Copiah-Lincoln CC before arriving at ASU.
VDN will to continue to follow Scott’s success.
