Gunner Palmer and Zeb Hughes disappeared on the Mississippi River Dec. 3.

Search operations continued Monday for hunters Gunner Palmer, Zeb Hughes and Hughes’ black Labrador retriever Kye after being curtailed Sunday afternoon due to weather-related issues.

Palmer and Hughes have been missing since Dec. 3, making this the 12th day of a massive search on the Mississippi River.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said four law enforcement vessels launched from LeTourneau landing Monday along with two vessels with family members that launched from the landing near Grand Gulf in Claiborne County. All search vessels are equipped with side scan sonar.

The U.S. Coast Guard is making broadcasts to all commercial vessels traveling the river to be on the lookout for any possible sighting of the two missing young men, Pace said.

Search operations will resume at around 9 a.m. Tuesday. Recently, searches have been delayed in the early morning hours due to foggy conditions on the river.
