Second man arrested in Jasmine Adams murder case

U.S. Marshals in New Orleans arrested Kevin Phillips, 29, of Vicksburg, on Nov. 18, 2019 on a warrant for accessory after the fact in the murder of Jasmine Adams.

Phillips waived extradition and was transported to Vicksburg.

Last week, Vicksburg police arrested Carlos Maurice Harris, 28, Adams’ then-boyfriend, charging him with Adams’ murder. Adams, 25, was killed at her home on Lake Hill Drive on Aug. 22, 2018. Initially, Harris told investigators the killer had been a home invader posing as a police officer. He is being held on a $2.25 million bond.

Phillips appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Nov. 20 when bond was set at $750,000. Phillips is also being held for the Mississippi Department of Corrections for probation violation.
