Second Saturday night shooting reported

Vicksburg police are investigating the second shooting incident of the evening.

According to Chief Milton Moore the first shooting is believed to have been accidental. That shooting occurred in Warrenton Heights at around 8 p.m. The victim was transported directly to UMMC by a Vicksburg fire medic unit.

Just after 9 p.m. numerous calls came into Vicksburg Warren 911 of shots fired in the Drummond/Speed/Military Avenue area.

At around 9:30 p.m. Merit Health River Region notified 911 they had a gunshot victim in the emergency room. Vicksburg police are currently at the hospital trying to ascertain where the shooting occurred.
