Secret Service issues list of banned items at National Championship in New Orleans

Headed to the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship in New Orleans Monday?

The game, dubbed the Tiger Bowl by some, will see Louisiana State take on Clemson Jan. 13 in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The U.S. Secret Service will be on hand to provide security for the game, along with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, all dedicated to ensuring the safety of players and fans attending the game.

Be prepared for tight security, including a search of all items brought to the game.

In preparation, the service has released its list of potential safety hazards that will be prohibited from the stadium. Leave these at home:

  • Aerosols
  • Ammunition
  • Animals other than service/guide animals
  • Backpacks
  • Bags and signs exceeding size restrictions
  • Bicycles
  • Balloons
  • Coolers
  • Drones and other unmanned aircraft systems
  • Explosives
  • Firearms
  • Toy guns
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Glass, thermal or metal containers
  • Laser pointers
  • Mace/Pepper spray
  • Packages
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Structures
  • Signs exceeding the size restrictions (20-feet by 3-feet by a quarter inch)
  • Support for signs and placards
  • Recreational motorized mobility devices
